bhumir apo' nalo vayuh
kham mano buddhir eva ca
ahankara itiyam me
bhinna prakrtir astadha

Meaning:

Earth, water, fire,air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego-all together these  eight constitute My separate material energies. 

*** The science of God analyzes the constitutional position of God and his diverse energies. Material nature is called prakrti, or the energy of the Lord in his different purusa incarnations(expressions) as described in the Satvata-tantra: " For material creation, Lord Krsna's  plenary expansion assumes three Visnus. The first one, Maha-Visnu, creates the total material energy, known as the mahat-tattva. The second, Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, enters into all the universes to create diversities in each of them. The third, Ksirodakasayi Vishnu is diffused as the all-pervading Supersoul in all the universes and is known as Paramatma. He is present even within the atoms. Anyone who knows these three Visnus can be liberated from material  entanglement.

Meaning:

Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth. 

*** Only the pure devotees can know something of the inconceivable transcendental qualities in Krsna, in the cause of all causes, in his omnipotence and opulence, and in his Wealth, fame, strength, beauty, knowledge and renunciation.

Meaning:

I shall now declare unto you in full this knowledge, both phenomenal and numinous. This being known, nothing further shall remain for you to know.


*** One should be intelligent enough to know the source of all knowledge, who is the cause of all causes and the  only object for meditation in all types of yoga practice. When the cause of all causes becomes known, then everything knowable becomes known, and nothing remains unknown.

Meaning:


The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Now hear, O son of Prtha, how by practicing yoga in full consciousness of Me, with mind attached to Me, you can know Me in full, free from doubt.



*** Bhakti-yoga severs the hard knot of material affection and enables one to come at once to the stage of asamsayam-samagram, understanding of the Supreme Absolute Truth Personality of Godhead.

Meaning:

And of all yogis, the one with great faith who always abides in Me, thinks of Me within himself, and renders transcendental loving service to Me-he is the most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest of all. That is My opinion

*** Anyone who does not render service and neglects his duty unto the primeval Lord, who is the sources of all living entities, will certainly fall down from his constitutional position.

Meaning text 37: Arjuna said: O Krsna, what is the destination  of the unsuccessful transcendentalist, who in the beginning takes to the process of self -realization with faith but who later desists due to worldly-mindedness and thus does not attain perfection in mysticism?

***The basic principle of self realization is knowledge that the living entity is not this material body but that he is different from it and that his happiness is in eternal life, bliss and knowledge. Arjuna is inquisitive to know the results of deviation from the path of self-realization

Meaning text 38: O mighty-armed Krsna, does not such a man, who is bewildered from the path of transcendence, fall away from both spiritual  and material success and perish like a river cloud, with no position in any sphere? 

Meaning text 39: This is my doubt, O Krsna, and I ask you to dispel it completely. But for You, no one is to be found who can destroy this doubt.

Meaning:

Arjuna said: O Madhusudana, the system of yoga which you have summarized appears impractical and unendurable to me, for the mind is restless and unsteady.

(Dhyana-yoga, Text 33 Chapter 6)

For the mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong, O Krsna, and to subdue it, I think, is more difficult than controlling the wind.

***Simple method one must engage one's mind fully in divine (Krsna). Only then will there remain no other engagements to agitate the mind.

Meaning: He is perfect yogi who, by comparison to his own self, sees the true equality of all beings, in both their happiness and their distress, O Arjuna!

***One who is divine(Krsna) conscious is a perfect yogi; he is aware of everyone's happiness and distress by dint of his own personal experience. The cause of the distress of a living entity is forgetfulness of his relationship with God. And the cause of happiness is knowing krsna (divine) to be the supreme enjoyer of all the activities of the human being, the proprietor of all lands and planets, and the sincerest friend of all living entities.

Meaning: From wherever the mind wanders due to its flickering and unsteady nature, one must certainly withdraw it and bring it back under the control of the self.

***In transcendental sense happiness, the senses are engaged in the service of Hrsikesa, or the supreme owner of the senses-Krsna(divine). Serving Krsna(divine) with purified senses is called Krsna(divine) consciousness.That is the way of bringing the senses under full control.

Meaning: One should engage oneself in the practice of yoga with determination and faith and not be deviated from the path. One should abandon, without exception, all material desires born of mental speculation and thus control all the senses on all sides by the mind.

niruddham yoga-sevaya

sukham atyantikam yat tad
buddhi-grahyam atindriyam
vetti yatra na caivayam
sthitas calati tattvatah

yam labdhva caparam labham
manyate nadhikam tatah
yasmin sthito na duhkhena
gurunapi vicalyate

tam vidyad duhkha-samyoga-
viyogam yoga-samjnitam




Meaning: In the stage of perfection called trance, or samadhi, one's mind is completely restrained  from material mental activities by practice of yoga.This perfection is characterised by one's ability to see the self by the pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realized through transcendental senses.Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. This indeed is actual freedom from all miseries arising from material contact.
